Pedagogical transliteration(Etz Chaim 95b) yadu'a ki ḥamesh nequdot yats'u me-einayim de-Adam Qadmon mi-beḥinat Ban ...

Plain meaningNahar Shalom describes the five points emerging from the eyes of Adam Kadmon and contrasts the enduring upper three with the shattered lower seven in each point.
The registered Lurianic witnesses are unpointed. Transliteration and expanded acronyms are pedagogical layers; source spelling, abbreviations, brackets, and variant markers remain visible.

WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING AT

Nahar Shalom / Rashash terminology

Do not replace the paragraph with an acronym list. First follow the ordinary frame: ידוע כי ... יצאו ... באופן ש... וסדר ... היה.... Then expand only what the context controls: א״ק (printed א"ק) is אדם קדמון; ב״ן is the technical Name-value Ban, not ‘son’; א״א, או״א, and זו״ן name partzufim; הג״ר and ז״ת divide the upper three from the lower seven. The suffix in שבו points back to each individual point. The closing cluster is a chain of internal references. The digital witness prints בע״ח ער ט׳; this release preserves ער ט׳ exactly and flags the apparent missing ש rather than silently rewriting the source.

READING

Pedagogical reading guide

Nahar Shalom describes the five points emerging from the eyes of Adam Kadmon and contrasts the enduring upper three with the shattered lower seven in each point.
MEANING

Lurianic Hebrew and Aramaic

claim: ה׳ נקודות יצאו מעינים דא״ק מבחי׳ ב״ן → result: each point is complete and contains five partzufim → event: the shattering occurs in each point → contrast: הג״ר ... נתקיימו / ז״ת ... נשברו → evidence chain: Etz Chaim and related gates

Close working translation — ‘(95b) It is known that five points emerged from the eyes of Adam Kadmon from the aspect of Ban, and all of them emerged complete, each one complete in all the components of that point, such that each one includes five partzufim: Atik, Arikh Anpin, Abba and Imma, and Ze'ir Anpin and Nukva. The order of the shattering of the vessels occurred in each point: in each of them the upper three—Atik, Arikh Anpin, and Abba and Imma—endured, while its lower seven, Ze'ir Anpin and Nukva, shattered, as all this is explained at length in Etz Chaim, [Gate] 9, chapters 6 and 7, and chapter 3 of Gate 17, and in several places in the Gate of Collections and the Gate of the Discourses of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, of blessed memory, and likewise in Mavo She'arim, gate 2, part 3, chapter 6; see there.’ The bracket around ‘Gate’ marks an editorial clarification; the displayed Hebrew remains unchanged.

APPROVED STUDY LAYERS

Source-specific guidance from the curriculum.

Learning objective

Read one exact Rashash paragraph by separating ordinary Hebrew syntax, Aramaic-style technical relations, acronym expansions, internal citations, and the paragraph's main contrast.

Technical parsing

Unpointed technical Hebrew with Aramaic-style ד־ relations, partzuf terminology, number abbreviations, reference abbreviations, perfect verbs, participles, and suffixed antecedent tracking. The source's unusual ער ט׳ is preserved as an unresolved orthographic/typographic feature rather than normalized.

Practice

1. Underline the finite verbs and circle the connectors כי, באופן ש־, ו־, and שבו. 2. Expand א״ק, מבחי׳, ב״ן, א״א, או״א, זו״ן, הג״ר, ז״ת, בע״ח, פ״ו, פ״ז, פ״ג, הרשב״י, ע״ה, מבו״ש, ש״ב, ח״ג, and יעו״ש. 3. State the antecedent of שבו. 4. Explain why parsing ב״ן here as the ordinary noun ‘son’ fails. 5. Identify the exact printed form that the lesson refuses to emend silently.

Answer key

Finite verbs: ידוע (impersonal/passive participial predicate), יצאו, כולל (participle within the result clause), היה, נתקיימו, נשברו; the connectors organize claim, result, sequence, and relative attachment. שבו refers to each point described by כל א׳ וא׳ מהם. ‘Son’ does not fit the technical sequence א״ק ... ב״ן or the contrast among partzufim; the audited Lurianic corpus controls the Name-value expansion. The exact anomalous printed form is ער ט׳ after בע״ח; it remains visible.

Transfer

Unseen line from the same folio: כל פרצופי אבי״ע כלולי׳ ממ״ה וב״ן שהם חסדים וגבורות וכל בחי׳ משתיהם יש בה נרנח״י שבכל פרצוף. Expand אבי״ע, כלולי׳, מ״ה, ב״ן, בחי׳, and נרנח״י; then identify the antecedent of שהם. Answer: אבי״ע = אצילות בריאה יצירה עשיה; כלולי׳ = כלולים; מ״ה = שם מ״ה; ב״ן = שם ב״ן; בחי׳ = בחינה; נרנח״י = נפש רוח נשמה חיה יחידה; שהם refers to מ״ה וב״ן, here identified by the source as חסדים וגבורות.

Source notes

Primary work: Nahar Shalom by R. Shalom Mizrahi Sharabi, Introduction to Rehovot HaNahar, folio 2a. Digital controls: a checksummed paginated PDF witness and the public Hebrew transcription linked by the Halacha Brura virtual library. The selected paragraph was visually collated at 180 dpi and agrees across both witnesses. The source's exact punctuation and abbreviations are preserved; no claim is made that the PDF is a photographic first-edition scan.

REMEMBER

In acronym-dense prose, syntax chooses the expansion; the expansion must never replace the source text.
