WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING AT

Reading without niqqud

Standard Mishnah text is normally read without vowel points on the page. An experienced reader recognizes words from vocabulary, morphology, and context rather than relying on niqqud for every syllable. The course therefore uses three displays: pedagogically pointed, partially pointed, and normal unpointed. The unpointed text is the destination; the supplied vowels are learning assistance, not part of the consonantal source text.
