Furtive Pataḥ

At the end of certain words, a pataḥ written under a final guttural consonant is pronounced before that consonant. רוּחַ is therefore read approximately ru-aḥ, not ru-ḥa. The pataḥ remains printed beneath Het even though its sound is heard immediately before the Het.
