WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING AT
Torah, worship, law, and moral language
This is the vocabulary needed to read legal, covenantal, ritual, and moral passages without translating every central noun from scratch. Several terms have wider semantic ranges than their familiar English religious labels. תורה can mean instruction and, in broader contexts, Torah; משפט can be judgment, justice, legal decision, or ordinance; חסד can describe kindness, loyalty, or covenantal faithfulness. Each word is taught through representative verses rather than a single theological slogan.
