WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING AT

Coming, going, standing, and movement

Movement verbs are among the fastest ways to gain narrative fluency. Biblical stories repeatedly tell who came, went, left, returned, arose, sat, stood, crossed, fell, or drew near. Several of these roots are weak and change shape dramatically — הלך → וילך, קום → ויקם, בוא → ויבא — so the vocabulary lesson and the morphology lesson reinforce each other. The learner should recognize direction before trying to reconstruct every grammatical detail.
