WHAT YOU ARE LOOKING AT

People and family

Narrative, law, genealogy, and prophecy constantly identify people through family and social relationships. These words therefore deserve to become immediate recognition items rather than occasional dictionary lookups. The set begins with man/person, woman/wife, father, mother, son, and daughter, then expands to brother, sister, child, servant, king, priest, prophet, and other high-frequency social roles. Several words change meaning with context — אִישׁ can be man, person, or husband; עַם is a people/nation rather than simply a group of persons. The course teaches the common range instead of forcing one English gloss.
